Layer: US Census Defined Urban Areas 2010 (ID: 0)

Display Field: UANAME

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description: The Census Bureau's urban areas represent densely developed territory and encompass residential, commercial, and other nonresidential urban land uses. The Census Bureau identifies two types of urban areas: “urbanized areas” of 50,000 or more people and “urban clusters” of at least 2,500 and less than 50,000 people. “Rural” encompasses all population, housing and territory not included within an urban area. This feature represents the 2010 "Urban Areas,” based on the US Census designated "Urban Cluster" boundaries. For the purposes of this dataset, only UCs with a population of 5,000 to 49.999 are included. These boundaries were compiled during the 2010 US Census.
