Description: The features in this map depict the flow pattern immediately above, thru, and bypassing the Mardi Gras Pass location in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. This is the first new Mississippi River distributary created by natural processes, in the past hundred years, in the Mississippi River Delta. It formed on Mardi Gras Day, February 21, 2012.
